The School of Computing & Information Technology and the REVA University ACM Student Chapter organized an Inter School Coding Competition – “Code Wars V 1.0” on 26th Feb. 2019 in the Swami Vivekananda Block labs F1 and F2.
104 students from the Schools of CIT, CSA, ECE, EEE, Mechanical Engineering in form of 30 teams participated in the Coding Contest.
The team “Eclipse” with following members was adjudged the winner:
- Sahil Chachra R17CS350 4th Sem CIT
- Suman Kalyan Giri R17CS415 4th Sem CIT
- Resham Sundar Kumar R17CS241 4th Sem CIT
- Shubham Kumar Giri R17CS392 4th Sem CIT
The Contest was divided into three rounds-
- Beat the Clock – Participants were expected to code the solution to 15 questions in 60 minutes. The winners were decided based on efficiency, correctness and exception handling capabilities of their solutions. Top 10 teams pass this round.
- Capture the Point- The winners of first round, face a series of rapid questions and each correct answer fetches them a point. Top 5 teams pass this round.
- Decipher the Code- The participants were given encrypted text to decipher the question. After deciphering the question they were expected to solve it in code. Top two teams are the final winners.
This competition saw an overwhelming participation from the students across the Schools. The entire process from planning the event, chalking out the logistics, setting questions, evaluating the solutions, arranging IT facilities was done meticulously well by our students from ACM Chapter and the School of CIT.
